AVANI TANDON VIEIRA
ABOUT
Dr. Avani Tandon Vieira is a curator, researcher, and archivist. Her research considers independent literary-artistic production in the late twentieth century, with a focus on material histories and urban cartography. She is interested in the politics of documentary practice, cultures of self-organizing, and the relationship between space and form.
Avani’s work has been recognized, among others, by the RAW Académie, Cameroon, the MMCA Researcher Residency, The Gallerie Splash Curatorial Fellowship, New Delhi, and, most recently, the Gwangju Biennale Curators’ Academy.
Avani holds a PhD in Criticism and Culture from the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and a master’s in World Literatures from the University of Oxford.
